10/9/10 - Day 295
Today we went to a section of Istanbul called Kadikoy which is located on the Asian continent. The open market there was incredible, with all the locals doing their grocery and other shopping. This delivery guy with basket on back, was scouting for customers.

Sister of St. Matrona
9/29/10 - Day 285
Lin & I did a serious hike into the hills above Hydra to St. Matrona monastery. Hot and tired, the Sisters invited us in for some water, candies and a tour of the grounds and chapel (built in 1865). They were happy to have me take their picture, and in this image, one Sister was showing us her handiwork.

Cherish
9/3/10 - Day 259
Taken for the Daily Shoot #292: "Make a photograph of one of the least expensive things that you cherish." I cherish Lin all the time, but on the days she works, it qualifies as "least expensive".

"Gorgle"
7/19/10 - Day 213
Growing up, my boys loved to play with their grandpa's "gorgle" (neck skin). For today's Daily Shoot assignment #246, my father-in-law was a perfect and willing subject.

Boy on a Bike
7/5/10 - Day 199
I read the Daily Shoot assignment this morning before heading out on a bike ride. My interpretation screamed out "fisheye", so I recruited my buddy Irwin after our ride. This shot makes a close object appear more distant...not quite the intent of the assignment. Nonetheless, we had quite a few yucks during this shoot, so please forgive the departure.

Brothers c.1990
6/27/10 - Day 191
Today's Daily Shoot assignment #224 was a no-brainer. Of the thousands of photos taken of our boys growing up, this is, hands down, our favorite. The boys are now grown and we are spread out across 3 time zones, so this brings a smile to our faces whenever we look at it. Truly a cherished image.

Bear Down
6/21/10 - Day 185
Our friend's son works for the Chicago Bears and was trying on one of the old-time uniforms. I was able to get a shot of Josh displaying his cell phone picture. Tight shot and to the point I think also qualifies for today's Daily Shoot #218.

Brothers Back Home
6/20/10 - Day 184
After a 12 hour drive home from Connecticut, the road trip following Phish was over...just in time for Father's Day. The boys slept in this morning and this shot caught them in a dream state.

Finding the Cure?
6/14/10 - Day 178
Was touring some life science facilities in Boston today and saw this guy conversing on the phone at a Harvard Medical School research building in the Longwood section. Couldn't help but wonder if he was discussing a cure for some dreaded disease or lining up a date for the weekend.

Brothers
6/11/10 - Day 175
Since we're spread across 3 time zones, it's not often that our family is together. We celebrated Jared's (left) college graduation with dinner tonight and caught a humorous moment between Jared & Jordan, as shot through my wine glass. Early morning drive to Athens on Saturday for the commencement ceremony.

5/17/10 - Day 150
I was shooting out the window, through the clouds, on approach today and looked up from the camera. Interesting profile and lighting made this image better than the typical "out the window" airplane shot.

Train Reader
5/10/10 - Day 143
Today's Daily Shoot was "Pay attention to your surroundings today. Make a photo of something you walk by every day without noticing." Took a couple of potential shots during the day, but saw this one as I was finding my seat on the train home. I converted it to B/W to enhance the contrast between an "old time" image and the e-reader.

Not Quite the Look...
5/1/10 - Day 134
...I was going for when getting a haircut today. But it looks pretty stylin' on Kim.

Spring Fling
4/1/10 - Day 104
They made me do it! With cold and rain predicted for the weekend, we just had to take advantage of the 80 degree, sunny weather. 27 miles, 1580 calories...it felt great!

Old & Timeless
3/18/10 - Day 90
The Daily Shoot assignment today was: "Find something that's so old it's almost timeless and make a photograph of it." I shot some old buildings and an old watch, but I just had to go with the old friend.

3/10/10 - Day 82
Today's Daily Shoot assignment was to make a photo of a street scene. No real chance to shoot during the day, but I was able to catch this jogger tuned into her music late this afternoon.

The Wanderer
3/4/10 - Day 76
As I was pulling out of the hotel parking lot this morning, I saw this guy wandering down the street, plastic bags in hand. I only had a couple of seconds to pull out the point & shoot and got one shot off through the car windshield.
