11/13/10 - Day 330
Today's Daily Shoot #363 was: "What is your favorite material? Make a creative photograph today that emphasizes its characteristics." Not sure if metal is my favorite material but was definitely one that dominated our day since we went car shopping.
Green dominates the color scheme because to buy a car, you need a lot of the green stuff these days. BTW, we didn't take the plunge today.

Giant Swords against the Butterfly
11/5/10 - Day 322
Well, at least that's what it looked like after I shot it with the SymmetriCam. Taken at the Denver airport. Stopped in Denver for dinner with my son.
The image was fairly desaturated, but the yellow/gold was pretty ugly, so I used the sliders...no bonus points for the Daily Shoot #355: "Make a photo today with a subject low in color saturation. Bonus points for not using a software slider!"

Urbanscape
11/4/10 - Day 321
Driving into San Francisco this evening, I was stuck in traffic so pulled out the trusty SymmetriCam on my cell phone to capture an image for P365. It wasn't until I got back to my hotel and put it on the computer that I realized the brightness of the tail lights would qualify for today's Daily Shoot #354: "Today, make a photo that emphasizes or even exaggerates brightness in a scene."
As an aside, the high-rise building that dominates the skyline in 4 locations is a residential project for which my firm managed the development from the ground up (One Rincon Hill).

Tightrope
11/1/10 - Day 318
Today's Daily Shoot #351 was: "The word balance has many meanings, literal and abstract. Pick one and make a photograph today." Was trying to use some off-camera flash backlighting while simulating a tightrope walk. Ran out of time so I went with my best shot of this poorly executed assignment.

Chucky's Cousin
10/29/10 - Day 315
Returning home this evening, I was able to fulfill today's Daily Shoot #348: "Make a photograph with compositional elements that mimic a face. No real human faces!" Neon lights above the walkway between the B & C terminals at O'Hare taken with SymmetriCam. I promise, no more of these shots this weekend.

Call Animal Control!!!
9/23/10 - Day 279
I'm being attacked by the dreaded Orange Tachosauras!
Taken for Daily Shoot #312: "Symmetry can be calm and soothing. Make a photo today featuring symmetry, either in subject or composition. (@logista)" This one is neither calm nor soothing, but it is symmetrical. Taken SOOCP using the SymmetriCam feature in the FxCcamera andriod app.

Moonlight
9/20/10 - Day 276
Nothing softer than moonlit clouds...other than light painted cottonballs. Daily Shoot #309: "Make a photograph of something that is soft, or at least looks that way. Convince the viewer of the softness."

War(hol) Path
9/13/10 - Day 269
Went out to lunch today without my camera and on the way back ran an errand through the train station. There was a vibrant retail path thru the station, so the cell phone camera saved me a return trip. Last week I had installed a free camera app that had several effects filters. This one, the Andy Warholizer, was appropriate for the scene. Shot for Daily Shoot #302: "Make a photograph of a path, sidewalk, trail, or road today and post it. Lead our eye through the scene."

I love shooting fire and trying to find images in the flames after the fact. Check out my Flickr set of fire shots.

Panic Shot
7/14/10 - Day 208
10:30pm. No shot yet. In hotel room. Low POV for Daily Shoot #241 needed. Running out of time. Panic. Go back out to shoot vs. find something in the room? Desk lamp. Water bottle. Bingo!

7/13/10 - Day 207
Even after a couple million miles of flying, until today I never saw a cloud pattern like this.

Bathing Beauty
7/2/10 - Day 196
Went out tonight to shoot at a local fountain in order to submit on today's Daily Shoot assignment #229. I didn't see this when shooting, but when reviewing, discovered the form of a woman's body arising from the pool.

11th Hour Abstract
6/23/10 - Day 187
It was getting late tonight and I needed a photo. Saw some cool effects of a red indicator light through a hand soap dispenser in our bathroom and figured "what the hell." Grabbed the macro lens and fired off a few shots.

6/22/10 - Day 186
Our good friends Irwin & Eileen gave Jared a handmade African drum as a college graduation present. With the sunlight streaming in this afternoon, I thought it would make a good abstract image for the Daily Shoot #219: "Look for abstract shapes and designs today. Make a photo of a subject everyone has seen that's not easily recognizable."
It's a stretch on the "subject everyone has seen" part, but it probably passes on the "not easily recognizable" part. You make the call.
