Recent participation in some photography forums has piqued an interest in doing a Project 365. Photography has been a hobby on and off for over 40 years and in the last 18 months my interest has intensified. So I've decided to jump in, give it a shot (no pun intended) and see if I can shoot every day for a year.

My expectations for this project are that it will provide motivation to expand my skills both behind the camera and in post-processing and provide a vehicle for experimentation. My photog pal Doug has been a great mentor, so I want to publicly say thanks; this is your fault (kidding of course).

It is going to be a learning experience, so any and all comments, critiques and encouraging words are welcome.

Thanks for viewing.

Retro Ride

7/4/10 - Day 198
I took a little different twist on today's Daily Shoot assignment #231.  Every July 4th our cycling group does an Independence Day bike ride.  Today was a celebration of a "retro" bike ride…the way my buddy Irwin and I used to ride several years ago.  The statistics are not impressive (just do the math), but taking it easy, exploring neighborhoods (and parade routes), cruising on paved trails, stopping to eat mid-ride, and being able to just kibitz along the way was a reminder of why I started cycling in the first place.  I've been riding with a great group of guys, however they've gotten so fast, I just can't keep up and have therefore not been too excited about getting on the bike.  Today's ride brought back the excitement.
